Coloured diamonds are much scarcer and hence usually much more expensive than colourless diamonds. Only one in every 10,000 diamonds possesses natural colour and is referred to as a coloured diamond. For this reason, coloured diamonds are purchased almost exclusively for the intensity and distribution of the diamond’s colour.
